In these steps of the application process, your Admissions Advisor will help you prepare the following documents for your application:

STEP ONE: How to Apply

Online Application


All Students:
1. Fill out and submit an Online Application or paper-based Application Form by the application deadline.
2. Include a non-refundable application fee of $60 U.S.
3. Send official transcripts in English from all previous colleges attended and a photocopy of the diploma(s) earned. Freshman applicants will need to submit official high school transcripts and a photocopy of the diploma.
4. Send official English exam scores (non-native English speakers only) or take the NPU English Placement Exam (EPE)*.
*The EPE can not be taken by overseas applicants or doctorate program applicants.

International Students Only:
5. Provide a recent financial support document (issued within 6 months prior to application) indicating that a minimum amount of $25,000 (for degree program applicants) is available for pursuing your study at NPU in the first year.
6. Submit photocopy of passport or any other government issued I.D.card.

Transfer Students Only:
7. Provide photocopies of I-94, and visa.
8. Submit a photocopy of your previous I-20, first page only.
9. Fill out and submit a Transfer Eligibility Form and have it signed by an admissions officer at your previous school.

  • Official Transcripts:
  • The official transcripts must be in English. If the documents were not issued in English, a certified translation in English is required. Foreign transcripts may require evaluation by a qualified credential evaluation agency.

  • Applicants meeting all the admission requirements except for these minimum English proficiency requirements may be conditionally accepted to the University with the additional prerequisite of ESL classes at NPU.

  • English Exams for Doctorate Degree Program Applicants:
    Non-international students (with non-F1 status) whose native language is English or who used English as the official language in their undergraduate studies are considered meeting the English proficiency requirement for admission. Others follow the same requirements for international students described above. Those who are in the U.S. at the time of application for admission have the option to take the on-campus English Placement Exam (EPE) in place of TOEFL/IELTS.

Financial Support Document:
Please submit only ONE of the three listed documents:

A. A bank statement or verification letter of your bank deposit, or
B. A bank statement or verification letter from your financial guarantor's bank and a Guarantor/Sponsor Letter signed by your guarantor, or
C. Notarized I-134 Affidavit of Support form to be completed by your financial guarantor.

Transfer Students

If you hold F1 status with another U.S. school, please submit a Transfer Clearance Letter completed by an international student advisor at your last school. This must be done either before you leave the last school or soon after you leave the school in order to maintain your F1 status.
